Think of your very first bike. That first time you laid your eyes on it. You immediately hopped on it, and pedalled forth. You had your trusty helmet on, and had your favorite toy with you on the basket. You knew training wheels were for losers but you couldn’t live without them. You were set for world domination. You went from places to places, and bruised your arms and legs along the way but it didn’t matter. Thirty minutes into your first ride, you realized that the bike was your best friend forever—you cherished your helmet, pedal, basket, seat, handlebars, bell, and sometimes even your training wheels. But what about the gears? Who thinks of their first bike and says, “I remember its gears dearly”? No one. Not anyone, ever. It’s a sad tale. Gears are the unsung heroes of bikes.
So for the first time ever, we are giving recognition to those boring yet useful gears. They have successfully transitioned from being a simple machine to an icon. We often see it signifying settings.
