The Web was invented by British scientist Tim Berners-Lee in 1989. The idea behind it was to create a platform where scientists from different universities and institutes all over the world could exchange information. The first website was hosted on Berners-Lee’s computer; it explained the web, how to view other users’ documents, and how to create your own server.
