This Search icon is made in Material Design style developed by Google. This style is based on extremely simplified shapes, thin two-pixel lines, and is optimized for 24x24 px. Unlike other vector icon packs that have merely hundreds of icons, this icon pack contains 4,400 icons, all in the same style and quality.
This icon is supposed to represent a magnifying glass. It's a large circle with a fat line protruding out from the bottom of it at an angle. The line is meant to represent the handle of the magnifying glass while the circle represents the magnifier portion.
We've received the idea on April 08, 2012 and created the icons on May 31, 2012
I would like a set of an icons for a desktop application which will serve for introductio, update, delete and search.

Usage Story about Search Icon
It seems like people are always in search of something, from something as crucial as a bobby pin or an officemate’s pen, to something more trivial, like love. It varies everyday, and as we go on, the more bobby pins we lose to that bobby pin Bermuda Triangle.
But to give credit where credit is due, searching for things has been fairly easier these days because of some guys named Larry and Sergey’s brainchild known as Google. Within milliseconds, we are much closer to what we’re looking for. Search engines can give us the nearest answers to life’s most puzzling questions, such as “What is the meaning of ‘bae’?” and “How many cats is too many?” (Google says two is the reasonable cat count.)
The most common search icon that we see online and virtually everywhere is the magnifying glass. This makes sense considering people use a magnifying class when in search of something almost never.
