This article is for people like us with a deviant behavior toward icons. We’re going to change the icons for the Chrome extensions.

Sometimes you have to do it. Here’s the problem:

One way is to break them up, as Brian pointed it out:

 

However, it would be great to change the icon altogether. To do so, go to this folder:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/Extensions
Win: C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultExtensions

Find some new icons. Since I use Instapaper on  Kindle mostly, I’ve used the Kindle icon.

Then, go replace all files in the icon’s folder with the new ones. I replaced all of the files with the Kindle icon that is 50×50 px large.
