A friend left this comment on our Steve Jobs post:

“An icon is like a joke. If you have to explain it, it’s not that good.”

Is that true? We think it’s not.

It sounds great, but unfortunately icons must be explained most of the time. Even for common icons like printer, it takes time to learn that it means “print a single copy of the document on the default printer”, not “open printer preferences” or “add a printer” – this is an example from Jacob Nielsen.

Speaking about this icon, it serves for multiple contexts too. The user who ordered it wanted “biopic”. And we’ve seen one user put it on his avatar, as he has a similar appearance. So, here it is. The icon of Steve Jobs, explained:
